The present economic crisis offers opportunities for the Dutch agrosector.
It is precisely at times of crisis that change is needed. Those responding to the changing demand are able to exploit the opportunities. What then has changed? The present-day consumer not only wants tasty food but also wants to know how it has been made, that animals have had a pleasant life, that the landscape is being maintained and that the producer of the food earns a reasonable income. Agricultural entrepreneurs therefore face the challenge of working not just for profit but also for people and planet. Many may have ideas, but how should you bring your product or service to the consumer, with whom can you cooperate, and what form of communication do use? At the “From crisis to chance” innovation event being organised by TransForum in Madurodam (The Hague) we show how these questions can be dealt with.
Ruud Koornstra (initiator of among others the energy company Oxxio and Greencard Visa) and Meiny Prins (managing director of Priva BV and Business Woman of the Year) will explain how their firms are responding to market demand.
From the TransForum projects we will be providing examples and experiences that entrepreneurs can put into effect straight away. And Secretaries-General André van der Zande (Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (LNV)) and Chris Buijink (Ministry of Economic Affairs) will be questioned by journalist Frénk van der Linden on what the government can do to support entrepreneurs.
Entrepreneurs and employees from the agricultural sector will be warmly welcome from 13.00 to 19.00 hrs in Madurodam (The Hague). To register e-mail:
