Board of Governors

The TransForum programme has developed a formal governance structure to act as a safety net for the quality of the programme. The formal governing bodies - the Board of Governors, the TransForum Advisory Board and the International Advisory Board - consist of high-level representatives of TransForum's various stakeholders. The Supervisory Board supervises the operations of the Board of Governors and the realisation of TransForum's objectives.

The TransForum programme has been placed with and is subject to the accountability of Stichting TransForum Agro&Groen. This foundation has a Board of Governors and an Executive Committee appointed by the Board. The latter's tasks are:        

·         Appointment of the General Manager
·         Appointment of the Executive Committee

·         Disseminating TransForum's message and ideas and setting up the network to carry forward the TransForum programme
·         Assessment and approval of the Practice Programme and the Scientific Programme and associated budgets and annual evaluation of the progress made
·         Assessment and approval of project proposals on the basis of predetermined goals and criteria
·         Monitoring the synergy and cohesion within the overall TransForum programme
·         Monitoring the progress of the TransForum programme as a whole and where appropriate making adjustments
·         Evaluation and approval of the annual plans, annual reports and financial reports
·         Ensuring proper representation by the Board of Governors in respect of key external players, such as the Committee of Wise Persons, the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences (KNAW), the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (LNV) and Senter/Novem. The Board of Governors meets four times a year. The composition of the Board is as follows:
