Mission and financing

Upon formation TransForum was given a twofold task:

  • First, develop proposals to ensure that the Dutch agrosector can evolve more sustainably.
  • Secondly, indicate how the Dutch knowledge infrastructure can be adapted so that knowledge can be meaningfully deployed in order to put those proposals into practice.
TransForum was partly funded under the BSIK (Knowledge Infrastructure Investment Subsidies Decree) scheme, as one of the 37 programmes to have successfully tendered for a subsidy from the Dutch government. All BSIK programmes are for a period of no more than six years. The TransForum projects were financed partly out of BSIK funds and partly by the parties participating in the projects. TransForum projects took place solely in cooperation with various partners.
